Center Poetry Contest
To
celebrate National Poetry Month the Learning Resource Center will be hosting a
Poetry Competition!
Winners
will have their poem hung in the library for all to see – and have the option
of having a recording done of them performing their poem which will be provided
to them on a DVD. Each poem* will be performed in front of a panel of 3 judges.
They will choose the winning entry for each category. Categories are ABC Poem, Cinquain Poem,
Haiku, Limerick, Rhyme, and Free Verse. Descriptions of each category are
included in this packet. While different rules may exist online, for the
purposes of judging only the rules laid out in the packet will be used.
Entering
is easy: A person can enter up to 2 poems in each category. Entries must be
submitted via email to sleif@iadtvegas.com with the subject Poetry Contest and the body containing your Name,
Student ID Number, Category you are entering, Poem Title, and Poem.
