By LIBRARY JOURNAL:
It would be difficult to overstate the breadth of data included between
these covers; take, for example, this sampling of indexed entries
beginning with the letter p: peas, the House of Plantagenet, the Pueblo
Incident of 1958, Preakness Stakes, prime numbers, prisoners' rights,
and pregnancy. The book kicks off with a "Year in Review" and then
organizes information in sections such as "Economy, Business &
Energy," "Crime," "Military Affairs," "Health & Vital Statistics,"
"Personalities, Arts & Media," "U.S. Facts & History," "World
Maps & Flags," "Nations of the World," and "Sports." Enhanced
throughout by glossy color photographs, this lively book is one the
trivia-minded will find hard to put down.
