Annual Student Art Exhibition

Annual Student Art Exhibition

Each year IADT hosts an Annual Student Art Exhibition. This year we will have a Reception on opening night (May 23rd) from 4pm - 7pm to show off the art to our students, faculty and staff. Additionally, employers and industry professionals from various fields are invited to attend allowing for an amazing networking opportunity for both students who enter and students who simply attend the reception.

This year entries are due by May 18th and the art will be displayed on May 23rd and 24th. Judges, consisting of the campus faculty, will vote for their favorites, and winners will be crowned in each department. Additionally, a Presidents Favorite will be chosen by our President, Jason Smith.

Spring Fashion Show

David Thomas, Academic Advisor, wrote a quick note in response to his experience at the Spring Fashion Show.

Congratulations Dr. Thomas And Fashion Department!

Allow me to be the first of many to congratulate Dr. Thomas and the Fashion Department* for a truly spectacular show and event last night!

Friday night’s Spring 2012 Student Designer Fashion Show in the ballroom at Green Valley Ranch was perfect in every respect; the location was elegant, the staging and sets were beautifully done, and the backstage organization was obvious – things moved along smoothly and perfectly for those, like me, simply watching in the audience.

The turnout was amazing – I got there 15 minutes before the show started and could only find seats in the last row! The audience was clapping enthusiastically throughout the show as the models appeared, non-stop, showing off some really great student designs.

It was a fantastic evening, an amazing runway show and worth every cent of the charitable donation ticket price!

I am looking forward to the next show, and judging by the comments of other audience members on the way out, I think there will be even a bigger crowd next time! Looks like you might be needing the larger ballroom downstairs for the next event.

Again, congratulations Dr. Thomas the Fashion Department! Great job!

*Dennis Wright did a great job as moderator, I saw Carol Franklin running around behind the scenes and there were probably many more I didn’t even see. It looked like half of Greg’s Cinema students were also frantically filming and taking photos, plus all of the Fashion students out front cheering the models on, and many working backstage – it looked to be a huge collaboration of lots of people. Compliments and congrats to you all.
